From MBA (PGDM) --To-- MEA (Masters in Employment &
Administration):
Alternative Approach: A Concept Note:
This is totally a concept note
which iam drafting based my continuous readership & tracking the overall
employment aspects by analyzing the current market & industry expectations.
Most of us heard about a Program called “Employability & Skill development”
– which are operated or run by NGOs/ Govt/ Private Bodies as part of their CSR/
Project Scheme to gain a better value momentum or to empower their brand image
in the open market. But, believe me none of those programmes are successful ,
as initially they started up with high morale & spirit, but at the end they
define their own process of nurturing the overall model of the Concept in their
own way without any industry/market networks/linkages. Basically the overall
home work are not that sharp enough to spearhead that protocol & move
ahead, the only reason for that is CHARITY Mindsets & DONOR/Funding
dependency, etc. Imagine if any start-ups or existing corporates can do it
seriously with independent revenue driven model followed by proper innovation,
technology, research & talent driven pool, such kind of model can turn out
to be a sustainable value chain in the long run. This program (MEA) is known to
be one of its kind, a new evolving category from regular MBA/ PGDMs, based on
the above mentioned not so success stories. Let me take thru little deeper
analysis about the Program (MEA):
Analysis of Existing MBA/ PGDM:
A two-year (2) curriculum, designed by Mgmt.
Institutions/ Universities. Top Institutes focus on General Mgmt deliverables ,
rest the Non-top one believes in offering specialization, namely ( Mark, Fin,
HR, Operations & IT, etc). Once, a student finished certain specializations
he/she land out in a job which is not relevant to their background, where they
face completely new challenges to deal with, which I believe is really a
stressful factor, whereas some can co-op up also but gradually very difficult
for them to continue their career composition part or performing better moving
head in their goal. The biggest reason we are not open to learnings & far
behind in nurturing innovating or creating something new for the Organization
to perform or take it to the next level, as there is a risk associated to it ,
which might corporate also not allow, if permitted we are not capable to
breakthroughs. Answer to that is GAP in Educational exposures & diversity
in mindsets to suit ourselves in change environment.
About the Uniqueness: New Program (MEA):
Masters in Employment & Administration
(MEA): A Course which will attract professionals from diverse backgrounds like
MBA/ PGDM only, but it will enforce a deepest link to professionals belongs
from Humanities & Social Science, Arts (Literature, Fine Arts,
Anthropology, Political. Science, History, Geography), Economics, & many
more, apart from the regular B.Tech/ M.Tech/ BBA/ Science/ B.Com/ M.Com
background. Imagine the Mix of collectives in this program which itself is a
global recipe in context to local ingredients. Another new approach in this
Program is the curriculum/ pedagogy: Inspite of focusing only in Bus. Mgmt
Subject followed by specialization , it will dig much more deepest aspects on
Every Pieces of Puzzle required to run an Institution/ Organization: Ranging
from Legal & Ethical aspects, Public policy & Governance, General Mgmt
( Fin, Mar, HR, Operations), Technology Mgmt & Entreprise development,
Research & Innovation, Social
Inclusion & Exclusive framework,
Sustainabilility & Developmental issues, & many more diversified forums/workshops,
within two years(2) duration like existing MBA/ PGDM set-ups. But, its going to
be more rigourous, enjoying , participatory
& action oriented which I believe will not so difficult for professionals to get a job/ employment if
their respected Institutions are not supporting them, as the program itself has
got a velocity that has momentum which can explored in widespread field &
hopefully any Organization/ Corporates will also accept that, as it covers
every issues that important to run an enterprise on day-to day basis as well as
it has got the foundation of dealing with issues in uncertain & freaky
times to turn around.
Predictive Industry Attractiveness for
the professionals:
As we move ahead in our career structure, lots
of new pedagogy/curriculum are introducing in the market from time to time.
But, my analysis will be mostly Organization look for, a good team player, a learner, possess logical
& common sense, who can tackle every complex situations in a challenging
environment & are willing to take calculative risks in their responsibility
& establish a new benchmark for them which will gain a better image for the
Organizations ( Private/ PSU). Most
important thing is about the professionals who are holding this MEA degree will
have in-depth understanding & knowledge about the basics of an Enterprise. ( Bus.
&Market, Consumer&Communication, Policy & Governance, Legality &
Ethics, Social issues & Sustainability), which will be nurtured much more
beautifully once they are in the Industry/ Organizations resolving daily
operational issues related to an Organizations. Apart from that this program
will establish an Ownership appeal among the professionals to secure their job/
employer, based on the foundation of the pedagogy/curriculum & resources
which will be designed creatively to promote the independent & individual
outlook among professionals to grow forth in their outlook.
Acceptance from Academic Institutions:
In the current scenario, higher
education is really not in good stage, because whatever courses Institutes are offering,
all that are not employment friendly or neither accepted by the Organizations,
that’s why, the Top Ones are continuously researching / innovating, trying to
define Industry/ market friendly curriculum which will appeal to Organization
as well as have a higher impact on Global/ Local outlook. Normally, the initial
launch may not be interesting to some Colleges, but once it will gain value
momentum to the Student Collectives (Clients), slowly & gradually every
institutes will fall in place, so the question here is who will Benchmark, (
Lead Institutes), to offer a course which is at par with MBA/ PGDMs but have
got much more deeper insights / lens & value enhanced competitive drive
that will create a eco-system in Organization/ Market pontentiality, which will
curve “ Evolving Leaders” from
Industry & Individual point of view.
But, my gut feeling is that the Top Institutes are trying to emerge newly by integrating
their courses, but no idea about the Not So Popular One- So how will they
Sustain/ Survive. Last, but not the least, “Ideate, Innovate & Incubate”-
otherwise it’s totally incomplete & impractical.
Note: “This note is based on a Concept –“ MEA”-
Program Brand which is designed & developed with the best of my overall
outlook. My request to everybody not to copy the brand /note & implement
somewhere without my notice/information. If anybody find doing so, will be
taken for further processing of legality aspects relevant to brand Copying/
Patented rights.”
