B-School’s Expansion Strategy:
Excellence in Performance- OR- Encouragement
for Admissions???....
Industrialization is @ a stage of Innovation, which gives a
go-getter outlook for change & adaptability towards emerging opportunities.
Education seems to define more empowering engagement to produce some of the
best talent that can tackle the complexity of Collaborative world.
Individuals/Professionals are looking for Market/Industry Friendly curriculum,
for better employment & enterprising options. Due to that Competition among
B Schools/ Management Institutions are becoming very diverse &
distinguished, which measures the base for Institution Building .
Now, days, we can see some of the Best Brand/Names, who are well established
–or- completely New Brand/Names entering into the Business of B –Schools or
Scaling up/Expanding. My only questions to that particular model is “Why they
are becoming so impatience/impractical to this ever changing market/business
scenario.” Yeah, I do agree – that we need to move along with time from
Individual/Institution’s point of view to accept openness/ learnings towards
globalizations & accommodate the increasing population. So, can anybody
tell me that --- “Do U think building lavish INFRA- with Modernization
Facility, ultimately leads to Globalization's”?? .” I might be completely wrong
also- but I believe as far as my experience are concerned , its not the
Infrastructure , that alone define B School’s Branding, there are many more
Multiple Options which goes on in a B School’s Ranking classifications. The
Most Important drivers are “Intellectual Capital/ Resources (People Proposition-
Teaching/ Non-Teaching) that nurture the environment of a B School, which
develop/design an culture for Innovation, R & D, Entrepreneurship, Decision
& Analytical Skills, Social & Interpersonal skills, Corporate
Relations, etc. If u categorizes some of the Names who are expanding or New
Names who are entering, everybody will find that all that necessity/needs are missing,
the only thing present is Hi-Fi Architecture with Wi-Fi connectivity, not so
well concerned about World Affairs. – The solution to that perspective is –
Encouragement for admission & less insights for Excellence, to increase the
nos. of seats on y-to-y basis, thereby produce some of the Non-employable
Graduates who are de-aligned with Industry/ Market expectations, probably
employed also, but unable to breakthrough in Challenging/Tough times, because
of their Foundation which are limited by nature & less inclined towards
Risk appetite. Think/ Analyze IIMs
model, over these years, couple of Young IIMs have launched, but we will not
find even a single existing IIMs are expanding – WHY , SO?? – because the model
permits Build on Single Platform in relation to Time for Sustaining the Future
of Management Education in collaboration with Industry/Market Mantra. Where as
Existing/ Established Names are expanding with High End back-ups, continuing
for some years as long as Capital permits. than slowly shutting down due to
lack of resources apart from surroundings acres of land. Well, the B schools (
Non-IIMs category) are fail to understand/ analyze about their Identity in the
near future, where they are heading towards, thereby focusing on Oldest Model
of expansion ( Branch/ Chapter style in respected geography), without
studying/researching about the New Upcoming Ones. My Only suggestions to them
is – “ Realize the Potentiality of Technology/ Internet which are interfering
at every step of our society, followed by grounding with challenges of change
world & mobilize the mobile oriented consumer compass which leads to
Creative Plans. Lastly, only Expansion is not the solution for admission, it
needs to embedded with excellence for delivering differently so B Schools have
to develop their Quality Quotient (QQ).
